I couldn't decide which one of these is better: far focus, or close?
I vote for 'close'. But without the blurred repetition of the white blossoms the image certainly would loose.
Right now I would go 'close' as well, but earlier 'far' lead by a small margin.
'Far' has its merits, without doubts, but the blurred foreground doesn't add so much to the composition - I keep asking myself why it is needed. With 'close' it's the other way round. In my eyes, that is.
I feel the intimate feel of "close" is more appropriate in this case. If the background elements were more varied I would have taken the "far" shot.
Hmm. Good question. But I have to say I like the close up.
@All: It seems that just about everyone is for 'close' - and so am I, after pondering this for a while.
