Being close

I have continued being close to the subjects of photographs. Also, I haven't managed to go for longer walks, so these photographs - as well as those taken yesterday - were taken about 100 m from home.

Of the two "Hay" photographs I couldn't decide which is better, so I'm asking you: which one do you prefer?

    My preferred Hay is the upper one. I find the light areas in the background of the lower image distract from the main subject.

    Consenting with Gail and Colin here: my favourite also is #1. But the soft blur in #2 is something I really do enjoy.

    @Gail, Colin and Markus: Thanks for the analysis. I guess the background blur was a bit distracting, especially at the top of the second photograph.
