I still can't believe it that on this very day the sky was perfect in Helsinki and I forgot to check the space weather... The display was visible in Espoo (http://www.spaceweather.com/aurora/images2011/05aug11/Lauri-Kangas1.jpg).

But more are to come since we are at the start of an high activity solar cycle.Christophehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18116795039975827373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500144491563926221.post-46283392016406157272011-08-22T21:11:30.415+03:002011-08-22T21:11:30.415+03:00@Dennis: Thanks for the comments about the books -...@Dennis: Thanks for the comments about the books - Contemplative Photography seems really promising. An off-topic question that crossed my mind: Given where you live, have you ever had the opportunity to experience an aurora borealis? It's on the list of things I'd like to experience before I die, but I know I'll have to travel a good ways (and brave (what I would call extreme cold)) to do so.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16776591645240960462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500144491563926221.post-88965350415160754652011-08-22T16:22:06.522+03:002011-08-22T16:22:06.522+03:00I was working back thru some of your post and adde...I was working back thru some of your post and added a comment about Aperture, in your prevvious post. Also on The Online Photographer there is a positive review of The Practice of Contemplative Photography. Further I have read Apple's Pro series book on Aperture 3. Very useful for catelog mechanics. Frankly pretty light weight on the photo correction mechanics. So if you're not sure what you're doing in processing a raw file, the book will not help much compared to what Bruce Fraser's books on Photoshop can do.Dennisnoreply@blogger.com
