Of beings, stars, and this unriddled wonder

Here are some flowers seen on the fells near Kilpisjärvi, photographs taken on July 17th, near lake Tsahkaljärvi.

Today I rode the bicycle for almost two hours, 32 kilometers. It wasn't too hot, +26 °C, which was fine.

Stuff of dreams: everywhere I inquired

On July 17th there was some rain, but that cleared by evening, and I went for a walk with my daughter to lake Tsahkaljärvi. Saana fell was mostly covered by clouds, but otherwise it was sunny and the sky was clearing up.

A 50 km trekking path leads from Kilpisjärvi to Halti fell, which is the highest fell in Finland, at 1,324 meters, and thus the highest point in the country. The path was rather busy. Hikers were carrying big backpacks, walking towards Kilpisjärvi village.

For joy, spread round about us, meant for us

Yesterday I went for a walk twice, at noon to Malla Strict Nature Reserve, where rain caught us and we came back earlier than planned. In the evening we explored lake Tsahkaljärvi and the rapids in the river west of the lake. Nothing too strenuous after the climb to Saana fell on Wednesday...

There is rain in the forecast for today, and visiting Norway might be worthwhile.

The photograph was taken on July 3rd at Särkänniemi amusement park.
