This image of separation begins in adoption

The photographs were taken on December 20th at Luukki.

This morning I walked for two hours at Tremanskärr. There was a little bit new snow. It was cold, -15 °C. The sky was blue, and lots of deep hues before sunrise.

In the afternoon I did two hours of shopping with the children. That was much more exhausting that walking across forests and swamps. The mall was packed full of people due to discount sales.

Is to look for sizeable flotsam

These photographs were taken in Luukki on November 28th. I returned to Luukki today. Lakes and swamps were flooding as there has been a lot of rain recently. I met some dogs and their companions.

The average highest daily temperature for this time of the year is 0 °C. Today we are having +10 °C. It may even be that there will be a new record for December. The previous all-time record for December is +11 °C, and we got that this year in the beginning of the month.

We who have forgotten everything

This morning I went for a walk in Luukki, to Ketunkorpi swamps and forests. It was quiet, as the birds don't sing much this late in the summer. There were a lot of blueberries to pick.

The photographs were taken on July 14th in Luukki, near lake Väärälampi.

No longer vegetal, steps into view

Yesterday I planned to rest, but I got restless, and in the evening I rode the bicycle for 1 1/2 hours. Maybe today I'll take it easy.

Form, the form of art, is an effigy of ourselves

I haven't commuted by bicycle since last Thursday, and the bicycle is still being repaired, there were more things to be fixed than I first thought. But I haven't been in shape either. No fever, but coughing, headache, muscle pains.

The weather continues to be wet and relatively warm, +1...+2 °C, which means that depth of snow will probably decrease further. At Helsinki-Vantaa airport it is 5 cm, and in Nuuksio 25 cm.

The photographs were taken at lake Väärälampi in Luukki on February 8th.

We quiver inside our shocked fur

This morning I walked for over 2 1/2 hours, taking photographs of the snowy landscape until the camera battery run out of power. There was 10-20 cm of snow on the ground, and not yet many tracks, except for some deer that had been active after the snowfall.

These photographs were taken on December 14th in Luukki, at lake Väärälampi.

I’d like to go over

These photographs were taken near lake Väärälampi in Luukki on February 1st.

I have been checking my weight somewhat regularly, weekly or at least every two weeks. After the Christmas vacation my weight was up 2-3 kg from the lowest it has been, but since then I have gone down 1 kg. Recently I have been eating a bit more than is probably good for me, but I think I have had enough exercise, 6-8 hours weekly, which should be enough to hold the weight at the normal range. Anyway, the weight is 12 kg less than it used to be two years ago, and that is good.

He’s so decisive about his core values

On February 1st I went for a walk in Luukki, walking around lakes Väärälampi, Mustlampi and Halkolampi. There was 20 cm of fresh snow on the ground, and for most of the walk I walked in places where there were no signs of people having walked after the snowfall. I walked for 2 1/2 hours, until it started to get dark, and felt good afterwards.

Spend my whole day in the quest

On January 2nd I went to northwest corner of Luukki, to the parking place near Halkolampi, walked towards north along the west side of lake Väärälampi, explored the forests north of lake Väärälampi, where I haven't been before, and returned via lake Mustlampi and east side of lake Väärälampi. The noise from the road carries surprisingly far to the forests, but otherwise it was very quiet.

In mystery the twig is bent

This morning I went to the Luukki forest for a walk, hoping that the snow would carry a person walking. But the snow wasn't dense enough to carry a person, except in places where wet snow had fallen from trees, or when there were tracks from skis or snowshoes. I tested this by trying a shortcut through unbroken snow, and it was really heavy going, snow depth was 70 cm or so and at almost each step I was knee-deep in snow.

But it was sunny, temperature was about -11 °C, and I enjoyed the walk a lot. Later today I went for another walk in Nuuksio, but that is another story (or posting).
