Fireworks - hard to get even one photograph to succeed

I had trouble this year in taking photographs of fireworks. For some reason I don't catch on until almost too late. Here is the on that more or less succeeded, all the others were failures. (The same happened a year ago.)

We celebrated the new year in a typical Finnish fashion, eating, drinking, and watching a Finnish comedy series from DVD - Kummeli Vanaja trilogy for those lucky ones in the know. We speculated with the wife that you need to have some kind of minimun alcohol content in the blood so that the series feels good. For us it seemed to be brilliant.
