Looks back across the lake, as though

The photographs were taken in Nuuksio on July 1st.

Yesterday I did quite a lot of walking, and some swimming. I expect to see a lot of lakes and plenty of forest today.

His life is more and more like

These photographs were taken in Nuuksio on October 15th.

I commuted by bus yesterday afternoon and this morning, but returned home riding the bicycle. It was easier to ride the bicycle than walk. I have lock pedals, and thus one could in principle ride the bicycle using one leg only.

The knee is still sore, but it is no long as swollen, and the muscle pain is easing. The places where there is skin abrasion are still bleeding a little bit. My palm is developing a large bruise, apparently it got hit as well.

My left leg has suffered quite a lot in 50 years. I have hit it with an axe, cut it with a chainsaw, suffered road rash several times, and so on. The leg should be used to the treatment by now.

Despite the accident due to black ice I'm planning to continue commuting by bicycle. The weather seems to continue somewhat warm, although the temperature may drop below 0 °C on Monday morning. I need to be careful then. Since the beginning of the year I have got 4229 km riding the bicycle.

Who are a little wise, the best fools be

These photographs were taken in Nuuksio yesterday, which was a snowy day. I was the first to walk on the path past lake Kolmoislammit after the snowfall.

Shakes with the weight of day

The camera rumor sites are abuzz with speculation about a new Panasonic camera, the LX100, that is said to have a multi-aspect four thirds sensor, a 24-75 mm (equiv.) f/1.7-2.8 lens, built-in EVF, and many other great things. Well, if the rumor proves to be true, this could indeed be the camera I'm looking for, now that I don't have anything else than the Nokia E7 to take photographs with.

This was another busy day at work. A great deal of things to do, and many things that got done.

On hot days we would see them

The weather continues to be fine. Today it was sunny, +20 °C. I commuted by bicycle, and that felt good. There were things to do, and still are, all kinds of new stuff to take care of, but most things are getting taken care of, one way or another.

You need not only silence but an entirely new life

I managed to do what I have been planning to do for some time: I walked for 4 1/2 hours in the swamps and forests in Nuuksio.

I started from the parking lot at Siikaranta, and walked to the east end of Soidinsuo swamp, the biggest swamp in Nuuksio. I explored Soidinsuo from east to west, and started then to walk north, to lake Iso-Holmajärvi, visiting lakes Poro-Kolmoislampi, Ympyrkäinenlampi and Pitkä Saarijärvi on the way. I returned via another route, circling via lakes Ahvenisto, Mustalampi, Vähä-Romlampi, Kolmoislammit and Siikajärvi. All in all I walked about 20 km, maybe a bit more, going slow in the beginning, and faster when returning to Siikaranta.

It was great to be outdoors, and the weather was perfect for walking, about +1 °C in the morning, and +6 °C around noon. During the night the temperature had dropped below freezing, and there were frozen cranberries at Soidinsuo swamp. However, almost all of the frost had disappeared by the time I was walking there.

The photographs were taken a week ago in Vaakkoi.
