This week I have got 14 hours of exercise, of which almost 10 hours walking up and down hills in Lapland. The weather has been great, some rain showers in the beginning but lately sunshine all day and all night round.

Today I went shopping with the children, walking for over two hours in the center of Helsinki. This made me much more tired than walking three hours in forests and swamps, so I had to take another walk after returning home, to recover.

Today was a rainy day, and I commuted by bicycle. In the morning we had some new snow on the ground, but that melted during the day.
The amount of snow varies quite a lot. In central Helsinki there is just some isolated spots of snow, and in the north parts 5-10 of snow. In Vantaa there is 10-20 cm of snow. In Nuuksio in Espoo there is 30 cm of snow, in some places 50 cm. But if the warm weather continues, not much snow will be left next week.

This was a terribly busy week. I didn't commute by bicycle because I have had flu symptoms since last Sunday, and I haven't felt at all normal. But maybe it will get better during the weekend.

It has been a very busy week at work. A big change after being on vacation for seven weeks, which was the longest vacation I have had in 20 years.

On Monday I went once again shopping with the children. Two hours in a shopping mall went in a hurry. I don't much enjoy shopping, but I guess one gets used to it this time of the year.

Here are some window views in Helsinki, taken while commuting to/from work. There is little time for stopping and looking, but I like to have the camera with me, one can try to see what the camera sees. The second youngest daughter is interested in learning to play the guitar. Today I walked past a shop selling all kinds of music instruments. I'm not sure what kind of acoustic guitar is the best for learning (are there different sizes for children?), but that should clear up when the lessons start in autumn.
We had quite a show of clouds today, but no heavy rain. And tomorrow should be a fine day for commuting by bicycle.

It seems that the feet are getting better, slowly, and when there previously was a sharp pain in the heel when the foot was in a certain position, now it isn't so sharp any more. I guess the new cycling shoes are an improvement. I have so far ridden about 100 kilometers on the bicycle with the new shoes, and they feel good.

Despite the weather forecast, we didn't get snow here in the Helsinki region, although a bit north of here there was some. Early in the morning I saw a car with 1 cm of snow on top of it.
