I know I’m going to lose myself

The photograph was taken at Salmi on September 3rd.

So far this year I have got 5007 km riding the bicycle. Last year I got 5000 km during the whole year, so now I'm a lot ahead, and 6000 km seems quite feasible.

But you on leaf?

The photographs were taken at Salmi outdoor area near Paratiisi on September 3rd.

We are getting some rain today, after a long period of dry weather. Tomorrow the streets may be slippery due to fallen leaves.

Let us go riding

The photographs were taken on August 28th.

This morning we had dense fog, and sunshine in the afternoon. There are bright autumn colors in maple trees: yellow, orange and red. Maybe I should go out and take photographs.

To navigate what is unknown to me

The photograph was taken at Vaakkoi on August 27th.

This morning there was fog when I commuted by bicycle to work. I some places the fallen leaves made the street quite slippery. I used the headlamp, the second time this autumn. The dark season is creeping in.

And so it stays just on the edge of vision

The photographs were taken at Luukki on August 21st.

Today I walked for four hours at Liesjärvi National Park, exploring the area between Korteniemi and Kyynärä. The smaller paths were in some places obstacle courses due to fallen trees. It was quiet, and the autumn landscape was rather fine. I took over 1000 photographs, and drained two LX100 batteries.

I do not want to go out in darkness

The photographs were taken in Luukki on August 21st.

So far this year I have got 4836 km riding the bicycle, and 3317 km since the beginning of May. The weather has been excellent during the last weeks, dry and sunny, but it is starting to get cold, below 5 °C in the morning. This morning was quite dark, and I used the bicycle headlight, first time this autumn.

The shutters are dropped against the day

The photographs were taken on August 20th at lake Kattilajärvi.

I have a big colored bruise on my shoulder (red, blue, purple, black, green and yellow shades), due to falling off my bicycle on Friday. There wasn't much pain in the shoulder, so I didn't realize I got hit there.

Gazing down on secret human desires

The photographs were taken at lake Kattilajärvi in Nuuksio on August 20th.

Today the morning was rather cold, 6 °C, but it was fine for walking. I took quite a lot of photographs of the autumn landscape, sun low on the horizon.

The photograph was taken on August 20th in Nuuksio near lake Kattilajärvi.

This morning I walked for over two hours in Sipoonkorpi National Park. The landscape looks like autumn. It was 10 °C in the morning. I got only two deer fly. There was one car in the parking place when I arrived, and fifteen when I left.

Laboriously improvised

The photographs were taken at Velskola on August 20th.

Today I fell off my bicycle, but luckily the speed was low and I got only a bruise in my knee, hardly any bleeding. A bit unlucky week with the bicycle.

Move my eyes from one sight to the next

The photographs were taken at Velskola on August 20th.

The weather forecast tells that today was the last warm day this week, and perhaps the last warm day this year. The autumn has been fine for commuting by bicycle.

If only one could touch such beauty

The photographs were taken at Velskola on August 20th, early in the morning when there was some fog painting the landscape. I took a lot of photographs with the new LX100, and quite a few of them turned out okay.

At just the right place

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on August 14th.

Today I got a puncture in the rear tire of the bicycle, and I had still 1/3 of the way home left. Luckily the puncture happened near a bus stop.

At home I changed the tire, both the inner and outer one. There was a 5 mm long slash in the inner tire, made by something sharp. The puncture happened not far from the place where a similar thing happened last spring.

I was a bit surprised to get a puncture. The Swalbe Kojak outer tire has puncture protection, but I guess it isn't foolproof. I replaced it with a Marathon Plus tire. A couple of years ago I used a pair of Marathon Plus tires, and never got puctures. They lasted until they were completely worn out and had to be replaced.

The photographs were taken on August 13th at Myllyjärvi south of Luukki.

The scene must be carried on the tongue

The photographs were taken on August 13th at Myllyjärvi south of Luukki, using the new LX100 which doesn't have the dust problem, at least so far.

This morning I walked for two hours at Oittaa, circling around lake Sorlampi. There was some fog but that cleared up soon. It has been several months since I last visited Oittaa, but I remembered the paths quite well. Last winter I walked there almost every week, and even managed to get somewhat lost a couple of times.

And how can we be sure that we’re alive?

The photographs were taken on August 6th in Vaakkoi.

This week was good for commuting by bicycle, and I got 178 km of riding. So far this year I have 4534 km, of which 3015 km since the beginning of May. At the end of the year 6000 km seems to be possible.

However, my weight has gone up 4 km kg since the beginning of the summer. I guess I have been a bit too hungry.
