The weather forecast promises warm weather for today, +6 °C, and there might even be some sunshine in the afternoon. That remains to be seen.

Today I started going through the backlog of photographs waiting for processing.
Late in the evening yesterday I went for a walk, taking photographs of trees covered in ice and snow. Originally I was planning to capture the Moon in the photographs, but clouds soon covered the sky and this plan didn't work. On the other hand, I got plenty of trees. And in one of these photographs the Moon is also visible.
One thing I always wonder about is that I don't usually see other people with a camera when it is dark. Mybe they don't realize how good the cameras are nowadays.

On January 5th I took some photographs while the moon was up and lighted the landscape. All these photographs were taken handheld, and the exposure was between 1/4 and 1 second. The OIS works perfectly on the LX100.

There were plenty of fireworks last night. When taking photographs of fireworks one should use a tripod, but I was too tired for that. Here are two photographs taken handheld, the first one contains an airplane, the moon, and some fireworks on the sky.

These photographs were taken on November 10th. I have had much less exercise this week than usually, about 3 1/2 hours of walking and that is all. I'm feeling restless, but I'm afraid that the flu will hit back if I do something too strenuous.

Here are some seaside views of Helsinki, photographs taken last week. Sky which is not covered by thick clouds is a wonder. The cold weather seems to be holding, and one is getting used to it. I went for a long walk today, and the temperature rose to -11 °C during the day, which almost felt warm.

Well, the trip to Brussels and back happened without problems. In fact, everything was just about perfect. I was at the meeting place 15 minutes early, and then the meeting started 15 minutes late, so there was time get the necessary paperwork sorted out in a relaxed manner.
And when starting back the Friday afternoon rush hour in Brussels wasn't too bad, and I got to the airport early enough so that I didn't need to stress too much at the security check.
But after 16 hours of traveling and attending the meeting it is good to be back. Here are some night photographs taken on November 16th.

Usually I don't convert photographs into b&w, but this time I decided to try it, as the color balance was rather strange, thanks to artificial lights and full moon on the sky.

Well, here are photographs from earlier this week. Today I took quite a lot of photographs, and there are photographs to be processed also from yesterday, but I just didn't have the time or energy to go through them.

Once again, an extremely busy day. And the the flu symptoms returned with a vengeance: I forgot to take antihistamin last night, and today the nose was painful and I had a headache as well.
And I'm falling behind in posting my photographs; these were taken yesterday.

It was much warmer today than yesterday, 15 °C difference, as the temperature is now at about -5°C. It feels warm when walking outside. And the moon shines bright.
What was surprising today was the photograph titled Trees. It was taken handheld, and the exposure was 1.3 seconds. I didn't even lean against anything, or do any special preparations, it just happened, thanks to the image stabilization on the LX5.
There were a lot of things to do today, and so I went out late when it was already dark. The decisive second round of the presidential election in Finland was held today, so I walked to the voting place, voted with a well-sharpened pencil, and walked a little bit more.

We had clear sky today, so the Moon was visible at night, giving a special feeling to the landscape, even when combined with artificial light sources.
I write book reviews in Finnish in the Valopolku blog.
