Taking photographs of the same thing again and again

Stump, originally uploaded by jiihaa.

Paul Butzi made a thought-provoking posting about photography, about getting stuck in a routine and not relying on the intuition any more. I must admit I have done exactly like this, not relying on the instinct, instead passing by opporturnities for photography - or then making images too rational, not relying on the first idea.

Here is a case example, a tree stump I used to take photographs of quite often, until I stopped - thinking that I can't make one that works. Today I shot the stump once again, after a long while.

Is this Lapland?

The forest landscape is loaded with snow in such a manner that it almost looks like Lapland. Except that there the trees are smaller and their shape is a bit different. But still, it is a winter wonderland out there.

Today was an overcast day, but there were some colors visible in the snow-covered forest. Not much, but a little bit here and there.
