Yesterday I took over 300 photos, but today is going to be a different. The weather is back to normal (clouded) and I feel more like reading a book than going out for a walk. On the other hand, I must say that there are so many wilderness and nature park areas in the Helsinki region that there are endless possibilities for discovering new things.
I'm waiting for the autumn leaf color to appear, but so far the season is not here except as occasional color spots in the landscape. This photo is from yesterday, from Lake Kaitalampi.

Calm feeling
Look what I found
I found this small mossy thing by the Lake Halkojärvi while we were on a walk on Saturday. It looks rather mysterious, as if there could be a hiding place beneath. Perhaps there is.
I must say that I like going out for a walk and discovering new things. Also, I'm happy to see that our daughters like the walks also. They have strength for several hours worth of walking, and find a lot of things to do in the wilderness. And they are not afraid of getting a little wet or bitten by a mosquito. I hope they remember this when they get older.

Caught!
These are the red berries of bitter nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), also known as poisonberry, which tells that they are not to be eaten. I have many times tried to photograph these with my Ixus 400, but always failed. (Due to the reflection of light from the berries burning out the colors completely.) This time I more or less succeeded, I feel, even though the dynamic range of the photo could be better.
