Paul Lester posted a non-snow photo to help Paul Maxim to cope with SAD. Well, it is hard to escape the winter blues here in Finland, but on the other hand you can try to embrace it.
Today I went skating with the youngest daughter. She was very keen on it, and we were the only ones on the ice, thanks to the -15 °C temperature. Because of the cold, we could be there only for a short while. But it was nice. My daughter declared at home that she had learned to skate today. Quite a self-confidence!

Tired of snow already? (But we can add fog and ice...)

Good and bad jobs
TOP had a posting about Best and Worst Jobs 2010, listing 200 jobs from the best (actuary) to the worst (roustabout).
The job of "photographer" was at position #126. It was below "nurse's aide" (#118) which I think is one of most stressful and physically demanding jobs. Hmmm...
What was surprising was "philosopher" at #11. Top salary at $105,000, not bad.
My current job - the closest corresponding title - is at #133. I think it is about right.
In my teens, I did some work in jobs #197 and #199 (or at least worked as a helper; dairy farmer and lumberjack). I wouldn't put them to the end of the list, although I certainly wouldn't cope with them any more, not having the physical strength and mindset.
Bright blue winter sky
Today we had a cold and sunny winter day, good for walking outside with the family. (Though not too long to avoid frostbite.) Here are three photographs taken today during the walk.
