Memory always has a back door

The photographs were taken on January 8th.

This morning I walked for two hours in Sipoonkorpi National Park. The paths were icy and slippery, but outside the paths the snow was packed tight and there was only 10 cm of it.

I played a bit with the GIF generator which makes things illegal, using the phrase "X is now illegal". First I thought that such words as "truth", "breathing", "humanity", "compassion" and "freedom" would fit the situation. In the end I thought that the phrase "President is now illegal" fits best, even though it is not funny.

Let it be that great strong land of love

The photographs were taken on January 8th.

Today I feel that making jokes about the baby-carrot fingers is not especially productive, even though it is easy. One needs to take the actions seriously and #resist, but at the same time meet his insults with love.

My daughter is preparing to spend a year abroad as an exchange student. Today we got to know the place where she will be staying. It is a great pleasure to see how enthusiastic she is, waiting to meet the people, to learn the language, and to get to know the local culture.

To sin by silence, when we should protest

The photographs were taken on January 7th.

I have been thinking about baby-carrot fingers once again. It is embarrassing how the US seems to be on the verge of losing all goodwill, due to insulting everyone. Soon there is nobody left to insult. Except perhaps the E.T.? "I'm the greatest, you are nothing! BAD! SAD!"
