That lonely passion of the rain

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on September 3rd.

My waterproof cycling jacket is worn out, after three years. I have used it during the cool season, including the cold winter days, when I have just added layers underneath. Due to a couple of falls in slippery conditions there were some holes in the fabric, but now the seams are starting to come apart. And also my windproof full finger gloves need to be replaced. I did some net shopping and found replacements. I hope the sizes are ok.

Fine, soothing greens - rain can be a great helper to get such a quiet mood. For me this works very well.

We have had quite a rainy summer here in Finland. In fact, as part of the 100 years celebration of the nation, there were plans for a burn-clearing, but that didn't happen because it was too wet.

Here you find photograph of a painting called "Burning the Brushwood" that shows how farming was done in Finland some 150 years ago.

That said, I do like wet weather, it is good for taking photographs (even though not always good for the camera).
