Only what is hard enough to endure

The photographs were taken on December 2nd.

This morning I walked for two hours in Petikko. The snow from yesterday had melted away, and the amount of flooding in the ditches around the fields was remarkable. Some of the paths were icy and very slippery.

Fine, Juha - this looks like real winter in a tranquil mood.

Down here its warm, rainy, windy and quite dark, but not at all winterly.

In southern Finland near the coast the snow has melted away each time we have got snow, but in northern parts there is a deep snow cover, even to such a degree to cause problems because of falling trees etc.

At this moment it seems that the weather will turn colder, so we might get some white color into the landscape once again. The darkness has been rather bad especially in December because of the thick cloud cover.
