I have been avoiding overexposure in my photographs, but now I have realized that sometimes it is necessary to push the exposure compensation upwards a lot. Here are two examples which I feel demonstrate the goodness of this, and provide ideas for future exploration.
All rules should be broken, I think. At least they should be tested out.

The beauty of overexposure

Snow is falling, falling (and people too)
Apparently we will get colder weather already tomorrow, so the season of sleet and slush appears to be over for now. But today was still warm, +1...+2 °C, so there was a lot of melting going on.
And people were dropping snow down from the roofs, trying to avoid excessive snow load. But there have been accidents, people have fallen down from roofs or being buried under the falling snow. Several people even died as a result of these accidents.
A sort of epidemic of roof-falling here in Finland. No cure to this, I'm afraid.
I went also up to the roof last week and shoveled down a lot of snow. I didn't fall down, I jumped - to a big pile of very soft snow. That was fun.

Slush and sleet
It is not so great weather out there: wet and getting wetter. Temperature is hovering around + 1 °C, and humidity is 100 %. Snow is melting, and we are getting even more moisture when it is raining and/or snowing. Better inside, waiting for spring.
