I heard today in the radio that we have now more snow on the ground than any year since 1970. At the Helsinki-Vantaa airport (not very far from here) the depth of snow was measured at 46 cm a few minutes ago, and we seem to be getting even more snow today.
Here are two photographs taken today, well after sunset. Handheld, noisy, blurry, but I don't mind. The children are practising cross-country skiing, a good skill to have in these conditions.

Interesting. I was just looking over a post of mine from last year, http://www.paullesterphoto.com/wordpress/2009/01/20/snowed-in/. You made a comment about how little it snows in Finland, with most of the snow falling on Norway. :-) I guess that a little more snow made it over the mountains, this year, eh?
Yes, indeed, but it has snowed a lot in Sweden and Norway also. But a lot of the snow has come here through a southern route - there has been exceptionally much snow in Germany etc. this year.
