Who thinks of love the less

The photographs were taken at Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor area in Hyvinkää on June 18th. It was a rainy day, but there was half an hour when the sun came out.

This morning I rode the bicycle for almost two hours, going through Petikko, Tremanskärr and Luukki, and past lake Bodom in the south.

Your shadow is my shadow

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on June 12th.

The weather has been rather fine. I have commuted by bicycle through the central park in Helsinki, which is a great way to start (or end) a work day.

Filling each mouth with envy, or with praise

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on June 12th.

Today was a dry day, even though there were still some puddles on the road in the morning. The month of June has been rainy. There has been 140 mm of rain, which is more than ever measured in Helsinki (the recorded history starts from the year 1845). And the beginning of June was rather dry.

Quicker than smoke, to the wrong idea

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on June 12th.

Today was a rainy day, but it didn't rain when I commuted by bicycle. For tomorrow the forecast promises more rain, and I don't expect to be as lucky as today.

Now learn uncertain areas of pain

The photographs were taken at Tremanskärr on June 12th.

Yesterday we visited Korkeasaari Zoo, late in the afternoon. The tiger was active, making noisy contact with the audience.

Yourself into such a position

The photographs were taken on June 11th in Luukki.

Yesterday I took photographs of midsummer bonfire, but it will take some time to process those photographs. There is a lot to think about, and not only Brexit. The uncertainty offers plenty of room for unscrupulous politicians to try to benefit from.

She reflected, in doubt and in debt

The photographs were taken in Luukki on June 11th.

We are having midsummer celebrations here in Finland today. In the morning I rode the bicycle for 1 1/2 hours to get some exercise. It felt good, but reading the news doesn't feel so good. Fear seems to be winning.

And love is blue

The photographs were taken at Linnanmäki Amusement Park on June 8th.

I have got 2636 km of riding the bicycle so far this year.

Wordless, confusing

The photographs were taken at Linnanmäki Amusement Park on June 8th.

I wrote earlier about the Nokian rubber boots which I have been using since 2012, and which still are serving quite well. Today I remembered that I bought my bicycle shoes five years ago, after my feet got seriously painful due to too narrow shoes.

The shoes I bought in 2011 - Specialized BG Sport Touring shoes - were the biggest shoes to be found in the shop, size 47 (US size 13), and they have fitted my feet perfectly. The pain I had had in my feet disappeared in a couple of days after getting these shoes.

The shoes are still in excellent shape, after more than 15,000 km of riding. It seems that this particular model of shoe has been discontinued, but I guess they will last for another five years, at least I hope so.

I’d worked in my window like a scholar

The photographs were taken on June 8th at Linnanmäki Amusement Park.

Today I installed new lock pedals to the bicycle, similar one-sided ones as the old ones were (Shimano PD-M324). I'm almost always riding the bicycle wearing bicycle shoes, but still I haven't bought two sided pedals, because during winter when it is very cold I need to use other shoes.

The length of day is today 18 h 59 min.

And now at this one time

The photographs were taken at Linnanmäki Amusement Park on June 8th.

Last week I got 13 hours of exercise, 7 1/2 hours riding the bicycle and 5 1/2 hours walking. I think I should take a rest day at some point, to recover.

I never saw, and so

The photographs were taken in Vaakkoi on June 5th.

Yesterday I went for a walk at the Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor area in Hyvinkää. It didn't rain all the time. I found new routes going across the area, and met six people and one shy dog.

PS. In the wet conditions I have been using the Nokian rubber boots which I bought in 2012. They show some wear and tear, but are still in surprisingly good shape, given that I have walked something like 2,500 km with them.

It is not your memories which haunt you

The photographs were taken in Vaakkoi on June 5th.

Today I'm planning to go for a walk in the afternoon instead of the morning. There is quite a lot of rain today.

It’s an ancient story from yesterday evening

The photographs were taken on June 5th at Vaakkoi.

We got yesterday over 50 mm of rain, which is as much as the average for the month of June.

So far this year I have got 2505 km of riding the bicycle, of which 1818 km on the new bicycle. I installed new brake pads today.

If he wished to forget those days

The photographs were taken on June 5th in Vaakkoi.

The weather forecast promised 20 mm of rain for today. So far there has been over 50 mm of rain, and more is coming. The roadside ditches are flooded higher than during spring.

When I had no eyes I listened

The photographs were taken on lake Suolikas in Nuuksio on May 29th. There was a lot of pine pollen to be seen.

I have been thinking that riding the bicycle for 33 km each workday is quite a nice amount. Today I talked with a colleague who is riding 40 or 60 km each workday, and "200 km extra" during the weekend.

For tomorrow the weather forecast promises 20 mm of rain, and thunder.
