9 hours 47 minutes

The length of day is now a respectable 9 hours 47 minutes, four hours longer than at the shortest in December. This is really good, coming out of the darkness. Here are five photographs taken today, while going for a walk.

Hello Juha!

This has nothing to do with your post, I just wanted to ask you something. Have you experienced scratches on the LX3-display?

Yesterday I went for a 163 km long bicycle ride and at the end I was kind of tired and didn't notice that I put the camera and headlamp in the same bag which resulted in MAJOR scratches on the display. There is a 2x1 cm area that's impossible to see thru... Not cool!

Do you know if it's possible to to buy the plastic that covers the display as a spare part?

It is my wife's camera so I have yet to tell her what happened to it... :(

I have used a screen protector on the LX3, currently I have second one in use as the first started to peel away. Both were cheap ones, 1-2 USD including postage, from Dealextreme.

So, I don't know what to do with the existing scratches, but maybe putting some silicon on them and then a screen protector film on top would be worth trying. At least it would be cheap.

A replacement part could be expensive, but you can always ask a camera shop for an estimate.
