A poet is someone at home

The photographs were taken on November 19th.

This morning I walked for two hours in Petikko. There is 10 cm of snow remaining, and some ice on the paths. The walk provided plenty of exercise. Thanks to the snow, it wasn't quite as dark as it would otherwise have been. The length of day is now 5 hours 49 minutes.

(Posting title is from the poem The Difficult Miracle of Black Poetry in America by June Jordan.)
