Seaside at east Helsinki

Here are two photographs from yesterday, from the Uutela sea shore area near Vuosaari. It was a warm and sunny day, and it is getting even warmer.

You find an excellent essay by Paul Butzi on photographic expectations here. Too often you search instead of letting discoveries reveal themselves.

Wonderful sunny landscapes you show here - Bavaria is drowning in rain at the moment.

Paul Butzi's post I noticed, too. He definitely is right, as I had to learn the hard way. I can't count how often I carried my camera and saw nothing to photograph as my mind was pre-set and blocked. In the last year this seemed to change, sometimes even in leaps. Yes, this post is one of the important ones.

Sorry to hear about the rain. Here in Finland the temperature keeps rising. Yesterday we had 25 °C with no clouds. Today it will be even higher, and next weeked close to 30 °C.

I'm trying to discover new ways of seeing, but it is hard going. You think you see but you are not really open.
