We have had colder and clearer weather for a few days. No snow, but at least the sun has been visible in daytime. And there is a little bit of frost on the ground, so it is not so dark as it used to be. But nights are long and getting longer.

Both images resonate with me. That blue/green hues in the first are challenging me because down here colors usually are not that intensive. But the warm light from the windows balances those colors very well.
And the 2nd is astonishing again because the artifical light is captured in such a brightness that I first thought of sunlight, only to be held back by the dark and deep blue sky.
For me those images work because of their unexpected elements, crisscrossing the normal perception and processing of the mind: Something does not match - alarm - 2nd look, slowing down. This is successful in keeping the viewer interest.
The church walls are lit with colored lights, and luckily there was enough ambient light to get a good shot handheld (1/6 second exposure).
I was surprised about the 2nd photo, didn't think it would turn out well. The last moments of the "blue moment".
