The new battery for the LX3 proved its worth already, although I have charged it only once. It lasts and lasts and lasts... The two old ones are not a match, even taken together. That was a really good investment of 10 euro.
Speaking of other good investments to go with the LX3, the screen protector has been such a one. I bought the first one from Dealextreme, costing something around 1.50 euro including postage. When it started peeling away I ordered another, this one costing less that one euro including postage. Another good investment was a mini-tripod from Dealextreme, costing something like 3 euro. It still works well.
Some investments haven't been so good. I have used up 3-4 memory cards for the LX3. They broke down mechanically. I got one replaced in warranty, but didn't bother trying another warranty round when the replacement broke down; I just switched to another brand.
The camera itself shows some signs of wear, but not much, mainly the corners and the front ring around the lens, where the lens cap is attached. And these are all just cosmetic blemishes - you could even say that they give a bit of character to the camera.

Which brand card do you use? And do you think the cards are susceptible to the cold?
Well, cold could be a factor. Also, I used a usb card reader for transferring the photographs, so there was a lot of mechanical wear. Nowadays I mostly connect the LX3 to the iMac directly via usb.
I have used Transcend and Kingston, but those broke down; now I'm using Integral Ultima Pro (and SandDisk as a spare card).
Hi, nice photos of from Finland you got there, the LX3 never disappoints. I rather use the LX3 for my general purpose photography need rather than using the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS (standard kit lens) that comes with my Canon 1000D. I just use the Canon 1000D with prime lens now.
As for the accessories for LX3, you might want to consider the 52mm Adapter Tube and if you like Macro Photography, you can also buy the Raynox MSN-202, a great friend for LX3.
