Today I went skiing, and it was good. Well, the sun was hiding behind thick clouds, but otherwise the conditions for skiing were perfect. Not too cold, smooth glide and reasonable grip. Even though I haven't done much skiing yet, the skill is there, and it is a pleasure to move in the winter-clothed forests and fields.
Andreas wrote a great posting on the topic of why some photographers (like me) don’t make pictures of people. And he pointed to Gary Woodard's blog as an example of depicting life with photographs. Quite a posting, and quite an example.
(Posting title from I lift my heavy heart up solemnly by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.)
A moment of profound silence followed.
