Tumble through the tumbling to that blue

I have spent a nice amount of time outdoors this week, 2-3 hours daily, mostly walking in forests but also skiing a little bit. It may be that the snowy photographs are getting a bit repeating, but I feel that the landscape changes daily, towards spring and long sunny days. Here are photographs I took on Wednesday evening when going for a walk with my youngest daughter.

(Posting title is from the poem Ecology by Jack Collom.)

Juha, It's been many years since I lived in a location with true snowy winters so I've been keenly enjoying past winter memories through your recent photos. I look forward to following the coming seasonal changes here.

Earl, we have indeed had a true winter, and even though I would like to have had more sunny days, I'm sure that there will be those ahead. It can be quite bright in spring when sun and snow combine in the right proportions. And birds are already getting a strong motivation for singing from the increase of sunlight. (Though I'm not sure about some birds whether the noise they make should be called singing.)

Juha, its most probably more than sentimentality - my daughters are now 12/12/16 - but "Walk" speaks the most to me. It's a perfect mélange of symbol and airiness of composition that makes it really special to me.

Markus, it is hard to say anything of photographs in which your children (or people you know) are depicted, because the personal dominates the interpretation.

What I pictured here is a kind of attitude the youngest daughter has, going through even deep snow without hesitation if there is something she wants to see or show. But what really is caught in the photograph, of that I have little idea, as it is difficult to get distance from the personal level.
