No mood to appreciate the clever

The weather is great, about +8 °C in daytime, and so I'm planning to commute by bicycle. The muscle soreness is easing, and it only bothers if I spend too much time in the same position, so a little bit of exercise shouldn't be a bad thing.

I had the car serviced on Tuesday, and fortunately it was a relatively cheap one; owning a 14-year old car provides occasional surprises. Years ago I remember wondering at my father who had an old, old car. Now I'm driving a similarly old car...

Perfect play with the trees and the rock cracks especially in the first two images, Juha!

Thanks, Markus. The sun was as high it goes this time of the year, creating strong enough shadows to entice the eye.

The repeating pattern of tree and shadow on the first image is really nice.

Thanks, John.

This is a rather special place in Meiko - there is a plateau some dozens of meters higher than the surrounding area, the rock worn smooth in many places by the retreating glacier - and these rocks are of benefit to rock climbers etc.

Last year there were a lot of ice formations hanging from the rock, but this year I was too late to visit this place to catch them, they had mostly melted away already.
