But, since life at most a jest is

There was once again fog this morning, and I walked 2 h 20 minutes, exploring the swamp in the north part of Vaakkoi. This was the third swamp exploration in four days, on Thursday I visited Soidinsuo in Nuuksio and on Friday Slätmossen in Meiko. I have got 13 hours of exercise this week.

I have been doing some shopping recently, preparing for the dark season. I bought new brake pads, tires, and batteries for the bicycle.

I was a bit surprised with the AAA batteries for the lamp. The new batteries are of the eneloop type, meaning that they cope well with cold, give plenty of energy, and preserve the charge for years. However, with the previous batteries the lamp got slowly dim, so that I was prepared well in advance for recharging them. With the new batteries the lamp produces bright light without dimming for quite a while, but then goes rapidly off, within 20 minutes or so.

This means that I need to carry spare batteries for my two-hour daily commute, or then try to remember to charge the batteries before they are fully discharged. Thus I bought another set of batteries, this time of the eneloop pro type, which have 20% more charge but can be recharged only 500 times, which still is plenty for me.

I'll be traveling tomorrow, so there will be a break in the postings here.

The photographs were taken on September 26th in Luukki.

Thank you!

Recently we have had dry and sunny autumn weather, but luckily mornings have provided variety: sometimes fog, sometimes frost, sometimes both fog and frost.
