One eye is Hungry, one eye is Lonely

The photographs were taken at Korkeasaari Zoo on June 25th.

This morning I went for a walk in Nuuksio, south of lake Suolikas, visiting a lake where Gavia stellata are nesting. The young one is already so big that the parents leave it alone when flying to catch fish at bigger lakes. And quite an appetite the young one seemed to have.

There were a lot of ripe cloudberries by the lake. I didn't have any container for picking the berries, so I ate them, and got full stomach. Well, there was room for some blueberries as well.
