Continuing the twig theme from yesterday...
Update: There is a new review of the Olympus XZ-1 at Digital Trends. A short one, with not much new, but there once again popped up the discussion on the lens - should one have it wide (as in 24 mm of the LX5) or bright (as in f/1.8..2.5 of the XZ-1). I prefer 24 mm. The difference between 28 mm of the XZ-1 and 24 mm of the LX5 seems small, but it is quite significant.

I have only just discovered your blog. Am totally blown away with the quality of the photographs you take with your LX3.
Especially love the top one here of the twig - i don't know quite what it is about it but something makes me keep coming back to have another look at it!!
I have just ordered myself a used LX3, and if i can only achieve a tenth of the quality you do with yours i will be a happy man!
Thanks! Although to be fair I should reveal that the quality of the photographs is not because of the camera.
In fact, part of the secret was revealed by American and German media, namely that Finland is the best country in the world.
You should also know that when you step on Finnish soil your IQ immediately rises by 20 points, which explains why we are doing so well in education.
But what is not yet generally known is that Finland is also the most beautiful country in the world. If you use a compact camera here, there results are the same as using a DSLR in other countries.
And if you use a DSLR here, you step into dangerous territory, as the results are so beautiful that viewers are in danger of falling into permanent coma because of the blissful experience.
The only problem we have is that some of our politicians are made of teflon and nothing affects or sticks to them.
(Maybe I should note that the above was not written completely seriously.)
