Of early morning, the mystery of beginning

I'm feeling blue. These photographs fit the mood, both taken on February 24th in Helsinki.

I'm not sure whether I have enough energy to go for a walk today, even though the day promises to be sunny, as there are all kinds of chores to do first. The temperature dropped to -3 °C during the night, which stopped the fresh snow from melting, so the landscape is still in winter mode.

(Posting title is from the poem In the Naked Bed, in Plato’s Cave by Delmore Schwartz.)

Hi Juha

I check out your photo blog regularly, just to feel connected with the day-to-day life in a strange country (well, strange to me at least).
I am always amazed at your relentless routine of bringing your camera with you and capturing the scnene, preserving the moment for all eternity.
Your photos are like food for the brain, starting a train of thoughts after taking a quiet moment to observe what is behind these pixels.

Thank you for never quitting.

Thank you Eric for the gracious comment.

Nowadays I'm getting a sense of living in a strange country as well, so that feeling is mutual.

I don't think my approach to photography is relentless, it is just something I do instead of watching tv.

I can't make any promises of not quitting, but as long there are things to see I'm rather sure I'll be using the camera.

I hope you will have a reasonable amount of quiet moments!
