Saving time

We had a sunny morning, but later we got clouds, and some rain.

I'm having some trouble in adjusting to the so-called summertime, a.k.a. daylight saving time. But apparently I'm not alone in this - there are even conspiracy theories about this, or at least controversy.

Since quite some time I am convinced that it should be called consumerism-boost-time, as this most probably is the most measurable effect. Adjusting to a different rhythm twice a year is completely unnecessary, me thinks.

@Markus: Economy has been the driving factor indeed in summer time. But whether there really is any benefit, I tend to doubt.

Wasn't it Russia who abolished the change, I'm not sure what was the motivation.
