Today I attended with the children an event displaying various hobbies at a local school. Later in the afternoon I went for a walk at the Tremanskärr forest, walking around lake Kurkijärvi ("Crane Lake").
In some places there was still plenty of snow left, all mushy, and it was heavy going. I was the first to walk on the west shore of the lake; on the east side, where there is a bigger path, some people had walked before me. But it was rather silent.
Spring is such an interesting season that one can't help wanting to go out for a walk every day, whether it is raining or sunny. One would like to see all the little changes, as winter turns into summer, little by little.
By the way, today the official depth of snow figure at Vantaa is 0 cm; yesterday it was 7 cm.

The photo "Pier" gave me momentarily pause to think about the Titanic disaster ... standing on deck as the ship sinks.

In fact, that pier has been slowly sinking into the lake over the years.
