Symmetry, that is the thing to see.
And for some reason this reminded me of this - maybe it was the approximate symmetry in the curves - the rather striking increase in the mean (and the variance of) body-mass index since the 19th century. Now that my BMI has gone down to 25, I seem to have gone very much against the trend.
