Some written word once tender and once bold

On Sunday I walked once again in Nuuksio with my daughter. This time we went to Velskola and walked south from there, just north of where we walked on Saturday. We explored Kilpilampi-Lippukallio nature reserve, which has a lot of variety in the terrain, from forested swamps to rocky hills. It was quiet, and we only met two other people while walking.

I have been reading A Drop of the Hard Stuff by Lawrence Block, which is a crime novel the way I like it, well written, human, darkness lighted by compassion.

Block puts all kinds of literary references and quotes in his text, and in this book he includes two types of Buddha in the story, one is a bouncer at a rough bar, another Buddha sits under the bodhi tree. But which one knows more about life, that is the question.

The photographs shown here were taken in Nuuksio on September 1st and 6th. Autumn colors are good for the photographer.

(Posting title is from the poem Reserve by Louise Imogen Guiney.)
