Every year the moon inches away from us

Usually I don't convert photographs into b&w, but this time I decided to try it, as the color balance was rather strange, thanks to artificial lights and full moon on the sky.

(Posting title is from the poem Red Moon Eclogues by Mark Tredinnick.)

Would be interesting to see your coloured versions nevertheless.

I always like your colour night photos because they have a very distinct atmosphere that to me, after - I don't know how long I follow your blog - all this time, is the definition of nordic city nights per se.

The b/w version is much less ... hm ... cozy? A little bit menacing. Much more cold in there. One can't imaging people living there somewhere. Totally different.Interesting.

Martina, thank you. I agree that these have a rather austere feeling, and I even tried to encourage it when doing the b&w conversion.

When I again have access to the computer I'll revisit the photographs and upload the originals to Flickr, maybe even make a second posting with the color versions.

I like these. They were totally unexpected as I don't recall seeing b&w offerings from you before. These work well, especially the last one.

Martina, Cedric - this morning I made a posting with the color versions of these photographs. They feel rather different, and I think going b&w was a worthwhile experiment.
