This photograph of Gavia stellata was taken in Nuuksio on July 5th. The birds were nesting on a small lake, feeding two young ones. When going fishing the parents needed to circle the lake several times to gain enough height to raise above the treetops. The LX100 at max 75 mm. equiv. isn't really a camera for taking photographs of birds, but one of the flights happened to pass just above, and surprisingly the focus was more or less all right as well.
