This morning I walked for over two hours, visiting another lake where Gavia stellata have been nesting. This pair had two young ones, and they were floating on the lake in a group, not doing much anything, probably because of the heat.
Today is the hottest day of the summer. In the morning when I started walking it was +22 °C, when I returned it was +28 °C, and now it is +30 °C. In five days I have got nine hours of exercise, so far, and some swimming is still in the program for today.
These photographs were taken near Pirttimäki on June 14th.
