Using long exposure

When there is little light, you need to gather light for longer. Today I tried "photography while walking", just taking handheld photos while walking in various places. I didn't realize there are some many ways to fail to make a nice photo! Such as this example here, where there were candle lanterns creating a nice atmostphere. I tried to capture the feeling in a six seconds long exposure, but bright lights and a long handheld exposure are a hard combination.
