I have tried many times to take a photo of this view, but so far I have always failed. It is a bit too chaotic, no coherent structure for the eye to use for orientation. But now I think I finally managed in this - the sunset wasn't bright enough to burn the colors, the silhouttes of the trees and the house were simplified enough for the eye to handle them, and the artificial lighting was strong enough to bring up the front view, with a somewhat different color temperature so that it is distinquished from the the sunset-lit landscape.
I cropped the photo a bit from the left, and brightened the foreground in LightZone, but these were minor tweaks. How do you feel about this photo?
As a supplement, here is another photo, an abstract one, with the tree branches providing complexity to the simple shapes of the moon and the lamp. No post-processing for this one.
