These photographs were taken at Soidinsuo swamp in Nuuksio on October 15th.
This morning there was black ice on the road, at the bottom of a hill, where the road turns, and I fell. And so did the cyclists coming after me. I got plenty of road rash to the knee, and a little bit to the arm. My knee got swollen, and leg muscles are sore, so it is difficult to walk.
I hope the road rash doesn't get infected. I had a similar thing some years ago, and there was infection, and I have a rather big scar at the knee.
I haven't installed studded winter tires to the bicycle yet, but I don't think they would have helped today. I just need to be more careful to anticipate the slippery places.

Sorry to hear about your accident, Juha. Good that your injuries are on the lighter side, but I know it does hurt for a while. When I was using the bike for the daily commuting, I do remember that every autumn there was at least one almost-accident: it seemed like I needed it to internalize the fact that the roads now were different.
The Finnish fall colors are soothing, but I don't know if they have a direct effect on your pain ;)
I wish you a speedy recovery!
Thank you, Markus!
The muscle pain is easing, but it takes time for new skin to form.
I did a little bit of walking this morning, and afterwards the leg felt quite good. Perhaps being outside in the forest helped. Only a little of autumn colors are left. It remains to be seen when we will get the first snow. Snow has been rather late in the recent years.
