You saw me when I was invisible

I visited Tampere today. It is always a pleasure.

The photographs were taken at lake Vaipo on October 16th. You can perhaps guess from the photographs how quiet it was.

(Posting title is from the poem The Confession of St. Jim-Ralph by Denis Johnson.)

i would like to vote yes to you getting studded tires... and add my prayer for quick and total healing.. -and.. add that i liked the angle on your leg picture..

and -im sure there must be a name, in camera-speak, for the technique used when one thing is up close/in focus, and the background is blurred.. i really like those shots..

and the variety of moods, and temperatures this visit captured...

blessings!

Thanks!

This morning there was frost and ice on the ground, but I rode the bicycle very carefully, and everything went ok. I do have studded tires waiting for installation, but they are so much heavier to ride that I'm hesitant to use them when there is no snow - they don't work especially well on ice, and are worse than summer tires on asphalt. The commute time is about 45 minutes with the summer tires, and 50-55 minutes with the studded tires.

About the background blur, I guess the right term to use is "bokeh", and camera gear enthusiasts sometimes have endless discussions whether the bokeh of a particular lens is "creamy" or not...
