I took quite a lot of photos of ice today, first at Kotka at the Sapokka water park (where a waterfall is generating a lot of ice), and then at a hydroelectric power plant at Pyhtää (Ahvenkosken vesivoimala). The latter would have provided a lot of opporturnities for photography, but there was little time for that. The varying water level in the river after the plant generates interesting ice structures in the trees, rocks, and the shore.

Great images!
Thanks - ice is a challenging subject as regards getting the exposure right.
I forgot to mention that all the photos from the Kotka visit are collected into a set on Flickr:

Wow, that is imressive. Any chance to be there at night? Probably with a tripod and a few artificia lights? I guess the possibilities are endless.
There probably would be some light at night, at least from the electric plant and from the nearby big road. But the area is outside the urban environment, so reflected light from above would be scant. In any case, night photography would be interesting there - pity it is a bit too far away for a quick visit.
