I just finished reading The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber, and quite a novel this is. A strange, impossible book about a missionary preaching to aliens on a faraway planet, a book I didn't really expect to like, or finish reading. But the writing, it was something else than almost anything I have ever read.
These photographs were taken in Luukki on January 24th.
(Posting title is from the poem To tonsured monks and dreadlocked Rastas by Kabir, translated by Arvind Krishna Mehrotra.)
