It has been darker winter than normally. At Helsinki-Vantaa airport they recorded 15.5 hours of sunshine in January. The average amount is 38 hours. But there have been even darker winters, in 1965 there was only 8.1 hours of sunshine in January. And because of climate change it is predicted that darker (cloudier) winters will be the norm in the future, so I guess one needs to get used to this.
However, some sunshine is promised for this afternoon. The length of day is now 8 hours 31 min, which is an improvement even though sun wouldn't be visible.
The photographs were taken on February 3rd.
